The IRS is 87,000 agents short. What this means is that for much of tax collection, the IRS takes the taxpayer's word for whatever. It assumes we are honest and it has to. Many of us are honest, more or less. In a lot of ways honesty is easier, and it in some ways it is beneficial. For others of us, however, honesty is not smart. Honesty is for chumps. I guess what that means is for those of us who take that view, we need those 87,000 new agents.

Imagine how much money we could save if citizens followed the rules?
