Trump Wimps Out Again

He will not testify in his defense.  Even after all that whining about the gag order and how it restricted his freedom of speech.

One would think that an honest genius would be able and excited to tell the jury the truth...

  2. It is amazing how no one trusts him to testify... Not even himself.

  3. He has testified in civil proceedings, and that hasn't worked out well for him. The standard and conventional wisdom in criminal proceedings is not to have the defendant testify.

It is settled law constitution that jurors are not allowed to draw any inferences from a defendants' decision to exercise his right under the fifth amendment to testify. That isn't without its problems for the defense. To begin with, as much as the judge admonishes them, no one can be sure that the fact that a defendant chose not to testify won't affect the juror's thinking. If he is innocent, why doesn't he say so? But in this case there is another problem. Trump outside the courtroom has been quite vocal about the case against him. The hard question for him to answer is why won't he say under oath, what he is willing to say just about everywhere else? I am pretty sure jurors are told not to read news accounts of the story, but word does have a way of getting out.

  4. Something that has been missing from all of Trump's issues is Trump's side of the story. Why ddoesn't he write a book as most ex presidents seem to do. Why not give an interview to one of the real reporters on Fox News. There are so many unanswered questions I have about Donal Trum and nobody seems to ask them.
