Trump Tariff Cut

 Trump admits that tariffs raised prices by reducing them.

  2. A lawyer asked to advise the president on the tariff issue would first have to tell him that the constitution is as clear as it gets tht the power to impose tariffs belongs to Congress. The language is as specific as the constitution gets But the lawyer would have to go on to observe that if the president did impose tariffs without Congress, he was at least risking adverse rulings from the courts. One thing that could mean, although it doesn't have to mean, that the courts would order the return of tariffs unlawfully collected which would, of course, create huge turmoil throughout government and the economy. That said, it is interesting that the Supreme Court shows no sense of urgency on the matter. If doing what logic very plausibly suggests, that the tariffs are illegal and would have to be returned, a very bad situation gets worse every day the Supreme Court delays it's decision.==Hiram
