60 Minutes

First 60 Minutes segment seemed to like propaganda for the Trump admin. The second was much better,

  1. Courtesy of the framers and their little helpers at the Supreme Court, two factors have come into play which have the potential to implode our legal system. First, the framers gave presidents absolute pardon powers. This is an indisputable fact. Second, the Supreme Court has added to that, by providing the president virtual immunity from criminal prosecution. What that means is that if we elect a criminal as president, as we did with Donald Trump, his power to do harm is unaccountable and unlimited. The problem I raise here is what is the impact going to be for those who dealt with him. The president has "been taking what could appear to be bribes. I say "appear" because I don't have evidence of that. Yet. But going forward, how can we know such evidence doesn't exist? The president himself can afford to be careless about such matters because he is immune from prosecution. But what about those who dealt with him? How can they know there isn't a paper trail of evidence that they have been bribing the president? No doubt their attorneys are busily trying to eliminate internal documents of bribery, but how can they be sure the president or his associates haven't created such evidence? The solution is pardons. I predict after the next presidential election, there will be mass pardon events. Pardons will run into the tens of thousands as panicked individuals who dealt with Trump and his family realize that a Justice Department newly weaponized against crime, might very suddenly come after them.--Hiram
