Trump Scared by Reality

I am not smart enough to know why Putin likes Trump, or to know if he does. However Trump 's inability to act like like a professional adult may be a good reason.

The President of the USA is lucky enough to have a wide range of professionals that were hired by GOP and DEM administrations researching data and turning it into information.  This gives them diverse perspectives which helps prevent "group think" and "bias".

This group led by Trump's appointees (ie Coats and Maguire) then provided information that he does not like to the leaders of our country. And instead of listening and taking steps to stop Russia's espionage, he fires the personnel he hired and says they were not to have shared all the information with the Congress Security committees personnel.

I think we have all worked for or dealt with people who only want to be surrounded by "Yes Men". :-( What happens is that they don't get real information and the organization suffers. The organization in this case is the USA and its National Defense Organizations.

We really need a President who will put the good of the country before his sensitive ego. Let's hear Trump say what Bernie said.  "I will stop Russia's espionage and interference within our borders."  Maybe he is not man enough to do that simple thing. :-(

Now I voted for a known liar, unfaithful husband, combative, narcissist, etc individual in 2016 because I also disliked Hillary. However if Trump does not take this National Defense issue seriously soon I may find myself voting for a fricking Democratic Socialist in 2020.   Who would have ever thought? :-)

From a FB Friend.

"Clausewitz coined war as diplomacy through other means. Hence, Trump is Putin’s Gerasimov doctrine through GOP means."

Now how can our "Commander in Chief" protect us from something that he is afraid to accept?

I asked a Pro-Trump person what would it take for him to stop supporting Trump...

I am still waiting for an answer. :-(

You can vote for Bernie because he will lose and then you won't need to feel responsible for giving Trump a second term.

What Is There For Republicans to Dislike About Donald Trump?

Hi Laurie,
If Trump does not start standing up to Putin in light of the continued information that Russia is still operating in the USA, I don't want that lilly livered self serving individual back in office.

And if I am getting to this point I have to assume there are millions of moderate conservatives who agree.

Doing and saying stupid antagonistic things is one thing. Ignoring aggression by Putin is because you immature and scared is another. That is a dereliction of one of his most key responsibilities.

Kevin Drum's piece for our convenience.

"Suppose you’re talking to someone who says, sure, they hate Trump personally (the tweets, the rallies, etc.) but they like his policies. So they’re going to vote for Trump unless someone can convince them that his policies are bad or that Democratic policies are better. Let’s think about this. What are Trump’s major policies?

Cutting taxes.
Installing conservative judges.
Getting rid of Obamacare and replacing it with something else.
A border wall and, more generally, tough restrictions on immigration.
Tariffs on countries that are taking advantage of us.
Cutting regulations in ways that are friendly to big business.
More money for the military.
Strong support for Israel.
Opposition to gun control, abortion, and limitations on religious practice.
It’s worth noting that almost all of these are just bog standard Republican policies. The two exceptions are the border wall and the tariffs. However, the wall is popular among the Republican base and the tariffs, judging from how they’ve been received, were always opposed more in word than deed.

Bottom line: if you’ve already decided that (a) Trump’s bluster isn’t enough to turn you off and (b) his “corruption” is mostly just a bunch of bogus partisan hysterics from Democrats, what is there for an ordinary Republican voter to dislike?"

Laurie,

I think Kevin is missing some Trump policies that are driving away moderate conservatives like me:

- Record deficit and National Debt during good times

- Ignoring looming long term entitlement and debt problems

- Ignoring Putin / Russia interference in USA security

- NO healthcare plan beyond end ACA

I have to hope that some Republicans will finally start acting like responsible adults for the good of their children.

CNN Question Regarding Report Out Expert's Wording

John said...

The insidious part of this story is how can we trust anything Trump etal put out?

If Trump threatens, attacks and fires people who report that Russia is trying to help him to win... What employee is going to state their true belief?
