Mail In Voting is Good in FL

Or so Trump says... And why does that self serving idiot think that?
"Florida's got a great Republican governor. And it had a great Republican governor," Trump said, citing Ron DeSantis (R) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.). "Two great governors. And over a long period of time they've been able to get the absentee ballots done extremely professionally."
now why would that weasel flip flop?
"Polls show a growing skepticism of vote-by-mail among Republicans, and in several key states, including Florida, more Democrats than Republicans have requested to vote absentee in November.
Biden is leading Trump in Florida by a little over 6 percentage points in the RealClearPolitics average of polls."
I rarely let Trump's self serving manipulation bother me, but his attacking mail in vote accuracy and reliability is SO DANGEROUS for citizens and our country.  How can people still believe anything he says?

I often wonder if he is delusional or manipulative?

I am not sure which is worse. :-(

Wow. Totally unable to distinguish between mail-in (absentee) voting, where real people must request a ballot and then be verified before receiving one, and "mail-out" voting, where everybody on the voting rolls gets one and must (SHOULD) be verified AFTER the fact. How dishonest or gullible can you be? We know the voter rolls contain about 10% errors-- people died, moved, challenged or improperly registered. AND even in "high-turnout" Minnesota, 25-30% of those voters do not vote at all. Can you imagine what happens to all of those undeliverable/unused ballots? When elections turn on 1 or 2%?

I assume the Post Office would "Return to Sender" if the the voter did not live at that address. And I think only Nevada is proposing sending every registered active voter.

As was have discussed previously, unfortunately the Republicans and Trump seem to be against No Excuse Absentee / Mail in Voting...

The sad thing is that instead of working actively to make it easier and safer for every American Citizen to vote, Trump is attempting to undermine the whole system and sew doubt and conspiracy. :-( What a loser.

34 states, including MN, already have "mail-in" no-excuse absentee balloting. National AND Minnesota Democrats are pushing for a "mail-out" balloting scheme that would /guarantee/ a fraudulent (okay, "improper voting") election.

The GOP / Trump want to make it harder for many citizens to vote...

It is a sad state of affairs.

jerrye92002 said...

And Democrats want to make it spectacularly easy to cheat. A ridiculous state of affairs.

John said...

Okay I am bored...

How exactly are mail in ballots going to excessively benefit fraudsters from either / both parties?

In most states the ballot will need to be applied for through the normal "no excuse required absentee ballot application" process. Are you okay with that?

With mail-out balloting, roughly 40% of ballots may NOT be voted by legally eligible voters. That benefits fraudsters, or simply those with no compunctions about cheating the election, not "both parties."

Again, I think only 1 state is proposing "mail out"... So why all the news and gnashing of teeth?

And you can not be that naive to think that there are only fraudsters in one party.

jerrye92002 said...

Wrong! Several States AND national Democrats are openly and forcefully proposing it but have not succeeded in getting it, except in a couple local places where it has been a total disaster. In MN, the only people pushing it are Democrats, and far Left groups associated with Democrats. OF COURSE the only fraudsters are in one party, the one proposing the enabling of fraud (aka "improper voting")!! And if you look closely, there are multiple ways Democrats already enable fraud, though on a smaller scale than mail-out balloting.

As always... So many opinions and ZERO sources.

It is amusing how people see themselves as the one's wearing "white hats"...

Even after I gave you a source regarding a fraudulent GOPer.

jerrye92002 said...

As always, demanding sources but absolutely certain that contrary facts do not exist. Try Pew research, or ANY news outlet. All I see is Republican/conservative people and groups fighting /against/ this hydra-headed attempt to steal elections. But I'll accept your citation, and note that the exception proves the rule. Do you imagine that if a Democrat had been caught in such a situation that it would be news?

And I know that you will never, ever, look up a contrary FACT, while calling everything I tell you as fact my "opinion." So here is one of my opinions. DFL Secretary of State Simon has ruled that any "challenged" voter--felon, unverified, bad address, etc.-- MAY vote by mail-in absentee WITHOUT challenge. So, vote in person (vote counts), get marked challenged, vote absentee (vote counts), get marked challenged again, vote absentee again (vote counts), ...

jerrye92002 said...

And this is just "normal" mail-in/absentee voting:
20% failure

It looks like the NY officials were being pretty rigid to ensure no fraud...

Isn't that what you want?

"New York state decided to allow anyone to vote by mail in the June primary because of the coronavirus pandemic. More than 400,000 people voted by absentee ballot in New York City, a figure that was 10 times the number of absentee ballots cast in the 2016 primary.

Opening and counting those ballots took weeks and candidates observing the count say that thousands of ballots were disqualified because of technical errors voters wouldn’t have encountered if they had voted in person, like missing postmarks or problems with their signature."

John said...

I guess from this... If you want your vote to count...

Mail on time and sign the ballot

So which text bothers you exactly?

It bothers me that any election is without credibility. and that Democrats want to make them less so.
