Forgiveness

Questions:

Will we be allowed in Heaven if we ignored the preaching's of Jesus and treated others in an inhumane manner? Do all we need to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we can do anything selfish, evil or immoral we want and it will be forgiven? Just asking for a friend...

🙂 What a sweet deal if that is true... 😮

This is a very interesting creation. It reminds me of a post I wrote a long time back. https://give2attain.blogspot.com/.../god-works-in...

Sure. Most of recorded history happened before Jesus was born. For practically all of recorded history, most people never heard of Him. Does it really make sense for acceptance of Jesus to be any sort of litmus test for salvation?==Hiram

Why does Jesus care if we accept him or not? Is he expanding market share?==Hiram

I am intrigued by the Mormons. The LDS church addresses the issues I have raised. For example, why did Jesus ignore America. Well it turns out He didn't. He came as recorded in the Book of Mormon. What do we do about the fact that most people who have lived on this planet have never heard of him. Mormons provide for baptism by proxy. People can become Christians retroactively.--Hiram

All of my life, I have been obsessed by WW II. The events that occurred in the middle of the last century. I can tell you what has always disturbed me about Christianity is that it failed to stop the Holocaust. What disturbs me in particular is that anti Semitism goes back deep in the history. It's in the Bible, in Matthew, and particularly in John. This has always been a big problem for me. This has always been, IMO, the strongest argument against Christianity.--Hiram

Well my questions are mostly posed to Christians... I think I understand that he grants forgiveness to those who accept him... Just not sure if it lets sinners off... Can they manipulate God?

In both my prior religion ( Unitarian Universalist) and my current religion ( a mixture of new age beliefs) there is no hell and we are all bound for everlasting life in some place heaven like. Laurie
