from McCarthy.  I agree that we need to balance the budget and stabilize SS and Medicare, however doing that without raising taxes or cutting entitlements is pretty much impossible. :-O

Red states lead in gun deaths.

I know it is not the Christian thing to feel, but I am pretty okay that mass shootings are occurring in Red states.  I mean if they want to keep pumping unregistered weapons into the weapons black market, they should pay the worst of the consequences.

G2A's Simplified Gun Policy Goal Statement:

1. Ensure that trained, responsible people can keep and carry their hunting and self defense weapons.
2. Ensure these weapons are removed from the homes of scary angry, insane and generally irresponsible people.
3. Minimize the death, injury and/or trauma to the innocent citizens of the USA when the system fails and a scary angry, insane and generally irresponsible person does not have their weapons confiscated.

G2A's Supporting Policy / Tools 

1. Mandatory back ground checks for every gun purchase or ownership transfer. Eliminate gun show / internet sales loop holes.
2. Mandatory confiscation of guns from people with anger issues / restraining orders. (Red Flag Laws)
3. Improve NICS, and State and Agency reporting into the database.
4. Mandatory Gun Registration (especially for hand guns and semi-automatic rifles)
5. Severe penalties for ANYONE holding a gun that is NOT registered, that should be.
6. Allow law suits against people who allow their guns to be stolen, especially if they have not reported the theft.
7. Allow trained school personnel to conceal and carry.
8. Limiting clip sizes to ~15 or fewer bullets
9. Banning weapons that are bump fire-able.

GOP Loosening Gun Rules

in Red States and the Kids Pay  :-(

Hopefully God judges the enablers harshly when they appear at the pearly gates.  I can already hear their justifications for supporting easy non-documented access to semi-automatic weapons. :-O

• I wanted it in my collection
• I needed the AR15 in my house in case there was an intruder
• I did not want to register my weapons
• I did not want guns taken from dangerous / unstable people
• I need the hand gun to protect myself from a sniper... 

Then hopefully Saint Peter laughs sadly and pushed the down elevator.

Parental Responsibilty in Utah

regarding social media and screen time?  That has to be one of the dumbest laws I have heard of.  I mean how exactly are the social media companies going to know the age of the person applying?  How are the "parents" going to approve?

I am not sure when the GOP started letting parents off the hooks for being parents...  If you don't want your kids on their devices, take them away, install spyware, etc...  Don't ask the government and companies to do your job. :-O 

What is Woke?

But, of course, that’s not how DeSantis and other conservatives use the word. They’ve turned “woke” into the latest in a string of meaningless, pejorative terms — “liberal,” “politically correct,” “cancel culture” — to cover anything progressives believe in, from racial justice to climate change. " 

Someone close me accused me of being "WOKE"..  Of course I then asked them what exactly that meant and they struggled...  I mean if it means:

• Being aware that human actions are having a negative impact on our Earth, and that we really should make steady changes.  Especially if the population is going to keep growing.
• Citizens, not politicians, should make decisions with their doctors.  Be it regarding abortion, sexuality, birth control, end of life, etc.
• Citizens of all races and religions should be treated with respect and fairness.  People and officers who fail to do this should be punished. No one should fear for their safety due to their skin color, sexual orientation, religion, etc)
• LGBTQ children do exist and they should be treated with respect, not bullied told that they they are aberrent, sinful, broken, etc.

then I guess I am WOKE...  Thoughts?
