As I read this Executive Power piece, I kept thinking how it would have been written 4 yrs ago about Bush. Would the writer have seemed as understanding? (ie working around obstinate Congress) Or would it have been portrayed some fascist abuse of power.

I think this piece reminds people that there is some point to electing a Democratic president even if there is a Republican Congress. As Mitt moves to the center and tries to blur the lines between himself and the president, this is something that Democrats are going to have to work to make clear.
