The Dysfunctional Senate

Since we have discussed the increasing polarization of the citizens and our politicians, I thought you may find this article interesting.  VOX This is Not how the Senate is supposed Work

I have no idea how we resolve this since the people on the Left and Right both seem obsessed with listening to their own version of reality and insisting that "those other folks" are evil and trying to destroy America.

The senate isn't supposed to work. Except for a few isolated instances in American history, it never has worked. It's constitutional function isn't to work, actually, it's to prevent the other branches of government from working. As they say, it's their job to cool the drink the rest of America works so hard to bring to it's table.

Our country is dying. The signs of it are everywhere. The president of the Unites States is endorsing, enthusiastically, a bigot for election as senator from Alabama, something that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. I wish I had a solution for the national crisis we face, but I just don't.
