GOP To Pass Record BAILOUT

I am likely one of the few who are against this MASSIVE SPENDING bill.  It looks like it has money in it for pretty much every citizen and business group...

As you know, I am incredibly frustrated that current voters have ZERO interest in being fiscally responsible.  They want low taxes and high services / bailouts... Even if it is totally unsustainable and will harm our nation and children greatly.  I do wonder where we went so wrong as a society?

It is really sad how deficits grow when the Republicans are in Power, so much for them being the party of the balanced budget amendment. :-(

It is a Spending and Revenue Problem
National Debt By President

Here is where all the US Government / Tax Payer Dollars Go. If you want to start cutting...  Tap image to zoom in.

One thing that is in there that doesn't need to be is money for people that haven't lost their jobs. When we get our check it will just go into savings as we are spending very little money right now. It seems like the number of people that haven't lost their job would be large and this could be a lot of money that does not need to be spent.

But then aren't we just funding more "welfare"...
(Peter pays, Paul receives)

I mean there is already a boatload of extra Unemployment Insurance in there...

As you know, I don't think any of it "NEEDS" to be spent.
(ie charities exist for a reason, people should have saved for a rainy day)

But us Americans do love getting stuff and paying less in taxes...

Ironically, though I am against the handouts they will come in handy in my house...

The Mrs is a self employed small business who will have even less income since parents are nervous about having their kids in Pre K. Even if it is 10 or less kids.

Probably wise of them and good for my home and health... :-)

I saw a headline in the Strib I think it was saying that the GOP is passing a record bailout, and that surprised me even given the license for imprecision headline writers are given. Congress is passing the bailout, and for better or worse, it's a bipartisan effort.

Good point. Of course the point I think it is simply raising the point of the GOP’s hypocrisy...

After all the Tea Party attacks on Obama, it is news worthy.

Hypocrisy is more of a Democratic problem than it is a Republican problem. It's really hard for Democrats to do anything at all without being accused of hypocrisy and double standards by Fox News.

Yesterday, Trump at his news conference basically accused the news media of rooting for his failure in order to boost the prospects of Democrats in the fall. Now Trump is a psychopath, and so projecting his views on his party is to some degree, unfair. Nevertheless, his party did choose him as their candidate fully aware of what he was. But in any event, what Trump was doing was projecting his attitudes on the other party. During the financial crisis of 2009 and years following, Republicans both opposed bailouts of the kind they accept now, and actively supported measures that they knew would damage a recovering economy such as raising interest rates. Trump thinks that way. Many Republicans think that way. And it's just a short jump from there to think everyone thinks that way.

I am not so sure about this statement...

"his party did choose him as their candidate fully aware of what he was"

If he wins in 2020 the GOP will have no excuse, but in 2016 there was still hope that he could grow, improve, etc...

Now we know for certain that he is stuck in his current limited capability...

Donald has been a public figure for decade. We have, in fact, learned very little new about him in the last five years. In a strange and curious way, we still don't know very much about the inner Donald Trump. We don't even know that there is one.

"We have, in fact, learned very little new about him in the last five years."

For all the talk about Joe Biden's "cognitive decline", we've heard very little about Trump's. Go back and listen to Trump speak in the 1990s and compare that to today.

Too bad our choice this fall will be between two doddering old guys... :-(

I wonder if the Democrats will find a way to nominate Cuomo.
