Test Scores

Latest Results  If the only thing changing is an increase in voucher and privatization...  Maybe they are the problem?

too much screen time might be negatively impacting reading scores (math, too) Also, good curriculum makes a big difference. We have a new middle school math teacher using a new curriculum and it seems like the students are doing about 10 times better (that may be slight exaggeration.)

Same old question though... We need a system that works without "Super Heroes"... Any thoughts after all your years regarding "What is Wrong"?

Why are so many kids still failing to reach grade level capabilities?

Maybe AI will revolutionize education (or make poorly educated students irrelevant). Right now most teachers don't / can't meet the wide ranging needs of all the students in their classes. With AI education can become much more individualized. We are not there yet.

My other idea is better curriculum. As I've mentioned our new math curriculum has made a tremendous difference. Reading instruction is also improving due to the read act.

Getting rid of the department of education will make test scores drop much more. Dept of education funds special ed and $ for schools that serve low income students (I think it used to be called title 1 - maybe it still is)
