I wonder if the evangelicals were getting grants to help the poor. It seems that they might be more focused on the prosperity gospel. Also, as part of being evangelical, they were maybe trying to convert people to their religion through their charity work. As my comments imply I have a sort of negative view of evangelicals. And that includes my negative views of Christian nationalism.
