Creativity in Wisconsin

Thank Heavens !!! It finally passed !!!
CNN Wisconsin Update

Now I don't know if the bill is good or bad, but I do know it is unacceptable to have the Democrats flee the state instead of showing up at their jobs. And it is incredibly unprofessional for teachers that "care about the students" to not show up at work... (especially if they were getting paid - sick days)

So it may or may not be overturned in the courts, but at least the people that were elected to represent the Wisconsin citizens were able to take the action they think and feel is necessary. Due process is no longer being stalled by the minority's acts of unprofessional extortion.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't go so far as to cry "thank heavens!!!" but Ezra Klein persuaded me to agree that passing the bill was a reasonable action for the WI GOP to take, given the circumstances. Ezra had another post I could relate to, as well, Blogs I disagree with, which included interesting links to follow. It seems others have had the same difficulty as me in finding worthwhile conservative bloggers to read (present, sort of conservative, company excluded)

If I had to hear about those valiant Democratic Senators and Public Employee Demonstrators one more day, I think I would have been physically ill. Praising people for not showing up at their place of employment rubs me the wrong way. Especially when they are being paid.

Of course, now we will have to listen to people complain about the travesty of Government not listening to the people... Which of course is silly...

We live in a Representative Democracy, not a pure Democracy.. The people of Wisconsin elected their Representatives, and they did what they felt they were elected to do... No more no less.

Speaking of one of the silly people... MN Publius Franken

After reading MN Publius and Freedom Dogs... I am not sure either extreme could have a rational and balanced post to save their soul. But they are in business to cater to their customers, so it probably makes sense.

Watching all these demonstrations, I found myself asking: who's more comfortable in the street? Don't think it's my side.

Hey let's not run down the great folks at Freedom Dogs, especially Yappy. I find him most eminently rational. A bit pointed, perhaps. :-)

I am sorry J, no offense to MN Publius, Freedom Dogs or Yappy was intended... They are likely very rational from their perspective... But I don't see them being rational and BALANCED anytime soon...

However, now that I think about it. I suppose from your perspective they are very balanced.. Interesting concept.

For example... FD At Last Why did they stop taking comments??? I used to have fun over there from time to time...

As for Conservatives being comfortable in the street... It makes sense that they are not comfortable making a scene in public... I mean they are "Conservative". (hahahaha)

Comments on FD were ended for technical reasons, not for the quality of commentary, which I found fairly reasonable, almost like here.

Also, I would like to point out that the whole point of commentary is to NOT be balanced. As Rush Limbaugh says, "I AM equal time." In a short commentary piece, one hasn't the space to be advancing the opponent's argument, and in most cases, from my POV at least, there is rarely a rational argument to be made for the leftist position. Seems they can trot out pink-sky logic faster than a virga vanishing in the desert.
