Just Close Your Eyes and Deny ISIS

For the folks that think our military should stay home, and we should spend more on the poor in the USA, here is an interesting article.  CNN Women Examined Like Cattle

My high school history teacher had this huge sign on the classroom wall quoting Santayana, to the effect, "Those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it." to which I have always added in my mind, "so are those who do". We do remember the past. We do know that waging war in the middle east provokes hatred and extremism. We know people hate being bombed. These are lessons we have been taught over and over again, and some of us even remember them. Yet even so, we can't help ourselves from repeating the policies that have proven so disastrous in the past. It's a most curious thing.

With or against their government...

We fought twice against Iraq's official government.

This time we are fighting with Iraq's official government at their request. It seems that this is a big difference from the last 2 encounters there.

Personally I think one should remember and learn from the past, and then adjust future actions accordingly. Not throw the baby out with the bath water.

I wonder what would happen to the USA if all our entrepreneurs stopped trying after their first failures instead of learning and trying again with improvements. How many technologies would still be undiscovered.
