God Help Us and Exit Polls

As you are painfully aware, I disliked both of the candidates for different reasons. So I would have been saying a prayer no matter who would have won.  I explained it to my Chinese co-worker in an email as follows.
Well… My guy won… I wish I could be happier…

The vote was kind of like some asking you if they should cut off your finger or your toe…

No matter which choice you make it is not good.

Hopefully he is a better President than he has been a person. (ie more humility, more patience, think before speaking, etc)

Me being fascinated with human nature. I personally find the exit polls fascinating. All this talk of Hispanics and Other races being against Trump and he got ~30% of their votes.  Only the Blacks were significantly pro-Democrat which I think says a lot unfortunately. (88+ %)

Well, the Republicans own it now. Good luck!

Now that is quite the cop out... Since almost half the elected officials are still Democrats...

I have to wonder if the Democrats will take any personal responsibility for their choices and how it drove the normal working folk in America to rebel against them?

Their obsession with:
- Tax payer funded hand outs
- Supporting illegal immigrants
- LGBT rights over Religious Freedoms
- Ever increasing regulatory burdens

The Democrats always want to make this about race... But I think it is simply a chapter out of an Ayn Rand book. The continual struggle between the workers who want to have personal control, and the elite who want to dictate who deserves what via the government... If you don't understand, read Atlas Shrugged.

"...the normal working folk..."

Code for "white people", since they are the only ones who drove the Trump victory.
The demographics are very clear on this. You can stick your head in the sand and say it's not about race, but you'd be wrong. The world is turning brown much too quickly for a lot of white people to handle.

Joel,
You can deny it but Trump got ~30% of the Hispanic vote, even after bashing ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. And as more immigrants get good jobs, start businesses and learn the cost of government / welfare... They will slowly start voting GOP.

Only the Democrats want to make this about Race.

All,
Eric has an interesting piece here

Republicans now control the Presidency, both houses of Congress, over 30 governorships and over 70 of the 99 state legislative bodies. If, in 2018, the American people don't like where this country is at, it's pretty clear who is responsible.

Are you that bad at math that you think 30% of a minority demographic can "drive" an election?

Sean,
That is good that you are admitting that the people did not like where Obama and the Democrats took us, and are therefore demanding change.

Joel,
My point is that there is much more going on here than RACE. Some day I hope the Liberals will start to understand that. They are doing an ENORMOUS disservice to people of color by repeatedly telling them that their circumstances are beyond their personal control.

Well, there's no reason that Trump shouldn't be able to implement his platform according to what he has promised.

So I look forward to him having the border wall "built in 18 months" and having it "paid for by Mexico". I look forward to his "secret plan" to destroy ISIS that is "foolproof", "simple", and will work "very quickly". I look forward to his new healthcare plan that will be "terrific" and "cover everybody". I look forward to his establishment of the "deportation force" to remove all of the illegal immigrants. I look forward to him cross-checking the ledgers to see if our NATO allies "have paid their fair share" while Putin rolls tanks into the Baltic states.

Well personally I am hoping he backs out of half of his promises...

I would be happy if he ends up being like Bill Clinton... I mean they both like women.

Well, you'll only have yourselves to blame if he doesn't.

Apparently not... My vote did not count...

CNN Clinton Wins MN

But look at all those other Red States surrounding our little bastion of liberalism...

And you accuse me of cop outs? Sheesh.
