Trump likes generals. He likes discipline and order, or at least the appearance of such things that they display. But for presidents, the issue is never the imposition of order, it's the management of disorder. What Trump has shown no signs of grasping so far is that nobody who matters in Washington works for him or is under his authority. Nothing about bringing in a general to run the office changes that.
The crisis that faces the Trump presidency, that will in all likelihood consume it, no matter what the specific outcome is the Mueller investigation. How will Kelly relate to that?
