GOP Healthcare Unravel

This opinion piece is interesting. CNN 7 Uncomfortable Truths

And Trump's response... FOX Let's Repeal Obamacare...

I think practically that is the only way we could get both sides talking about something better...  But I think that uncertainty would be devastating for patients, healthcare systems and the insurance industry.

I would be glad to talk about something better. But better is irrelevant to the discussion. We didn't have universal health care in this country because we didn't have a plethora of better ideas, we didn't have it because we couldn't agree on what it should be. In other words, the problem now is what it has always been, a political, as opposed to a policy problem. Our system as it currently stands, is incapable of either doing things or undoing things.

Democrats have been willing to talk about this for a long time. They just haven't been willing to accept that the baseline is kicking 20 million people off of health insurance.

Obamacare represents a lot of compromises. Reopening Obamacare means reopening the compromises. We are not going to allow the concessions we made to get Obamacare done serve as the starting point for a new round of discussion.

Well you know my view...

ACA and the Democrats want to focus mostly on robbing Peter so they can pay for part or all of Paul's health insurance. Or they want to focus on government enforcing price controls which often has negative unintended consequences.

They seem to have little interest in pressuring Paul to become more independent, healthier, etc. So I am not sure they are actually open to talking about healthcare.
