Most folks will point at THEM... :-( Even as WE keep demanding lower taxes and higher spending. :-O
Therefore stealing from the futures of our children. Personally I think the Boomers and Gen X are some of America's least responsible citizens ever... Give me mine and screw the country / world when I am gone. :-O

What bugs me is getting blamed for stuff when I don't have the power to do anything about it.

That's exactly what the GOPers are saying...
And yet the folks of your generations passed massive Liberal programs without an adequate funding model...
Just as the Conservatives passed tax cuts without adequately cutting the programs / expenditures.
It took greedy voters from both sides to create this DISASTER...
"And yet the folks of your generations passed massive Liberal programs without an adequate funding model..."
The Boomers have been in charge for 30+ years.
Moose
Closer to 40...
And us gen Xers have been voting for 20+...
How many of us would vote to raise our taxes and reduce our services / payments?
The issue isn't the lack of an adequate funding model, rather it's simply a matter of people not wanting to pay for the things they want.
But in any event, I don't see Democrats not taking responsibility for things as a problem. We are currently engaged in a political campaign where Democrats are being attacked for the tough decisions they made, particularly the local response to the mandate.
A lot of people advocate divided government. Whatever the merits of that choice, one of the things it means is that no one will be in charge, no one will be responsible. This fits the Republican approach to government which mostly amounts to leaving tough decision to someone else except where abortion is concerned.

Here is a classic example of a Republican shifting responsibility to someone else, of avoiding a tough political problem.

Well we agree on this...
"it's simply a matter of people not wanting to pay for the things they want."
