A Fool and There Money

Is Soon Parted. Is it a bribe then?   Who would buy into Trump's company?

I mean he seems to be having a hard time paying his fines.

Just because an investment is poor isn't a sufficient reason for not making it. People buy lottery tickets all the time. For anyone interested in how one can make money by investing badly, I highly recommend the recent movie "Dumb Money", now available on streaming services.

I have tried to remain as ignorant as possible about the investment aspects of Trump's social network. In it's healthier aspects, it is simply a way to send money to Donald Trump outside the election laws, and in many ways I think it is a good thing for that. As an investment its like a game of musical chairs without enough chairs. Most will be left standing but a few will find a seat.

For me, the fun aspect is the six month lockup period Trump has for his huge stock position in the new company. The stock has an artificially high value now, but investors know that there is the possibility that the bulk of the shares will be dumped on the market six months from now. Can Trump find away around that? Is there some transaction, this most transactional of men can enter into that would allow him to turn is ownership into cash now? If there is, and if he does, what impact will that transaction have on the market and on the election? To watch, put DJT on your phones and buy some popcorn before the stores run out.
