Who Borrow Trump $91 Million?

Maybe this insurance company likes to gamble...

He is still working on that $550 Million bond.

The risk keeps increasing.

My concern is, of course, that deals were made behind the scenes by various business leaders who expect to benefit from a second Trump administration. The concerns could be eased if Mr. Trump fully disclosed the terms of the bond.

Chubbs Insurance

But why did the insurance company take on this risky deal? What did he offer as security? Trump is a difficult and litigious individual, Entering into a contingent relationship with his is pretty much the equivalent of buying a lawsuit. What made those risks acceptable for Chubb?

I assume an underwriter ground the numbers and a premium for the policy was set.

Just like insuring a ship entering the red sea...

It's not simply number crunching. The guarantor has to think about what would happen when there is default. Trump is a litigious guy, expert at delay tactics. The insurer has to thknk about how it gets its money back at an acceptable cost. What I suspect has happened is that a lot of other people who have a vested interest in a second Trump administration have made assurances to the guarantor that their payments will be covered.

Trump means big money for much of corporate America in terms of reduced taxes. The amount they will save in taxes is vastly larger than even the accumulated judgment costs against The Donald. That's why they support him.

Our politics is pretty simple these days. Wealthy people support Trump because he will lower their taxes and give them a free hand with the environment. Social issues aren't relevant to that decision because they know they will always have access to things like abortion and IVF.

Maybe... Maybe not...

Cutting taxes and easing environmental regulations are really the only things Trump did as president, domestically.

In foreign policy he did move the embassy to Jerusalem, which in view of subsequent events, is a case of missing the point on an epic scale. That and of course, the Abraham Accords which are an example of Trump's world view that if you pamper rich people enough, they can save the world.

I think that you are missing his primary contributions:
- McConnel enables him to remake the juduiciary
- HUGE deficits that benefitted most everyone that votes today
- a re-jiggering of NAFTA
- keeping foreign nationals in Mexico

Yeah... That was about it.
