Trump Demands What He Would Not Do

Yahoo Trump demands whistleblower testify in person — the thing he refused to do in Mueller probe

At least he is consistent in being a hypocrite and a liar... :-)  It will be interesting to see if he finally turns over his tax returns or if keeps trying to hide them?  Apparently he has no secrets from his supporters and will fight like hell to ensure they never find them...

NYT Trump Taxes: Appeals Court Rules President Must Turn Over 8 Years of Tax Returns

I still wonder often how the Trump True Believers rationalize him hiding so much normally open information from them?  (ie Tax Returns, Testifying Under Oath, Actual recording of that perfect discussion with the President of Ukraine, etc)

Why would he need to read the doctored summary instead of just letting us hear the actual recorded call?  Is it that bad?

I have wondered about the effectiveness of a strategy of broad claims of privilege when it seems the only people who feel bound by it are the ones who would be expected to provide evidence favorable to the claimant. This strategy does make sense, however, if the person claiming the privilege will provide testimony that hurts them.

The latest argument is one I find interesting. Basically, it's an argument that the president did it, but his intentions were good. What I think this means is that people who make this argument believe Democrats are evil, and anything that can be done to stop them from taking power is a good thing.

It is a bit odd that the White House is trying to prevent their most trusted personnel from being questioned about a very innocent excellent call.

Apparently Trump does not trust his personnel and/or it was not so innocent.

If I squint both eyes I can understand how it is good for the country to investigate potential problems in Ukraine, but his laser focus on Biden and the DNC server make it hard to believe the intent was honorable.

The president is pretty cynical where the rule of law is concerned. He sees it purely in terms of power, and as the one with the most money, he is the one with the most power. What he is doing now is something that has always worked for him, doing all he can to delay the process, in this case, through the use of frivolous legal actions. He is also counting on the Republican controlled Supreme Court to have his back. Democrats are neutralizing this tactic by simply following their own impeachment schedule and not allowing contemporaneous legal actions to delay the process.

It seems to me that his supporters are okay with him using their Defense Tax Dollars to try to force Ukraine to re-open closed investigations and make statements disparaging Joe Biden and the DEMs.

And if they are not going to punish him like they would a DEM President who did the same thing, then the Senate will most likely give him a pass.

So the big challenge for the DEMs is to make sure that every moderate like me is certain that he abused his oath of office so bad that we can not stomach voting for him no matter how terrible their candidate is.

The problem is that Trump's support his unshakable in the states he needs to win. The founders in their wisdom decided that the votes of only a few states should matter and none of them are Minnesota.

You never know... Maybe one day MN will be purple and in play.

Would that make you happier? Or more sad?

I'm rather enjoying the irony, lost on most trumpies, that donald is in fact running the country like a business -- one of his own -- with untold levels of corruption and malfeasance.

Are we sure businessmen, or women, make good Presidents?

Please share sources for this "untold levels of corruption and malfeasance"...

I am sure the DEM Leadership would like to see them ASAP. :-)

Do you think Trump represts a typical business man / woman?

"Please share sources"

How would something that is untold have sources, exactly?

The proof is in his daily lies about minor things. Anyone who lies about unimportant things is most certainly lying about the important things. i.e. they are corrupt
