Trump Starts War to Distract?

I wonder if Trump planned on Iraq kicking the USA out of their country...  Or he planned at all...

And he accused Obama many times of planning to attack Iran pre-election to boost his poll numbers, is this why he chose to attack assassinate a foreign country's General now?

More regarding Trump's past tweets and comments.
Days before that tweet, Trump posted a video in which he claimed that “Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate. He’s weak and he’s ineffective. So the only way he figures that he’s going to get reelected — and as sure as you’re sitting there — is to start a war with Iran.”
So we know that Trump put's his wants ahead of everyone else's. But do you think he would go so far as to start a war to win an election?  Unfortunately I think it may be possible... :-(

Trump doesn't have moral credibility so his decision to go to war emphasizes that as opposes to distract from it.

Correction...

To you he has no Moral Credibility...

To his supporters he has kept many of his promises and therefore has significant Moral Credibility...

To you he has no Moral Credibility..

Not even his supporters were willing to defend him against charges that he was "grossly immoral". Not one.

When Hitler kept his promise to murder Jews, did that enhance his moral credibility?

I am not ready to equate lowering taxes, saving fetuses from termination, slowing illegal border crossings, etc to killing Jews...

Though folks like yourself seem to have no problem doing so.

You must not think much of Jews... :-) To me killing them is MUCH more heinous.

Please provide a source for this statement.

"Not even his supporters were willing to defend him against charges that he was "grossly immoral". Not one."

Please remember that Christians believe that all humans are sinful. So Trump can lie, brag, etc and still be normal...

That does not lower his "Moral Credibility" in other areas for his believers. It just makes him human.

How does that old saying go?

"There was only one perfect human and we nailed him to a cross...

Remember this?

Did a search this morning. Couldn't find a supporter of Trump who would say he wasn't grossly immoral. The most they would say was, "We were electing a president, not someone whose gross immorality we were concerned about."

I am not sure pointing to nothing can be considered a source...

I was simply unable to find any Trump supporter willing to say Trump was not grossly immoral proving my point.

People who voted for Trump wanted a president, not someone they could respect or admire or hold up as a role model for their children. They certainly didn't want Trump to be the one to decide where and when to put their children in harm's way.

Food for thought

Presidential Ethics Poll

Republicans are much more likely to say Trump's ethical standards are higher than those of Democratic presidents Obama (73% say Trump's are higher) and Clinton (78%), and are modestly more likely to say Trump's ethics are higher rather than lower compared with Carter's (47% higher, 36% lower).

However, Republicans do not rate Trump's ethics universally more positively compared with previous GOP presidents. Republicans on balance view Trump's ethical standards as lower than those of George H.W. Bush and Reagan, but higher than those of George W. Bush and Nixon.

How would you rate Trump's ethics?

I think the most ethical presidents are Carter and Obama.

I think the lowest on ethics are Trump, Nixon, Reagan (in that order)

That leaves Clinton and the 2 Bushes in the middle

It is an interesting topic, I have no idea.

I sure wouldn't go into business with Trump or Bill Clinton.

Not sure what you have against Reagan...

The way the Iranian hostage crisis was resolved and Iran contra.

So you are saying Trump is not "grossly immoral". You are proving me wrong?

Just correcting your exaggeration... You were starting to remind me of Trump... :-)

Sorry Laurie, At the time of the Iranian hostage crisis and Iran contra, I was more interested in where the next party was and which girl wanted to make out... :-)

Weird. I've always been concerned about politics. But then, when your very life and lives of your friends (GLBTQ+) are daily impacted by it, you're bound to care. Oh, to be in the privileged Straight White Christian Male category and not have to give a rat's behind about anything outside your sphere.

Even if I had been gay, I would not have been thinking about LGBTQ marriage rights... Or how I could use the government to force everyone to accept my life choices and public behaviors...

I would have been concerned about where the next party was and which guy I wanted to make out with... :-)

I am guessing that your up tight nature and government reliance has little to do with your sexual orientation.

Spoken like someone who's never been forced to question their very existence. I don't know why I read this blog, the words of someone so privileged and detached from reality.

O Lord... Drama Queen... :-)

Thank God you weren't born 20+ years earlier...

Were your parent(s) accepting and supportive of your pre-disposition?

I have another gay acquaintance who really had it hard... Strict Catholic Rural Parents... He never did tell them...
