I Hope Our Kids Forgive Us

Personally I am so frustrated with how selfish the people living in America at this point in time are.  The Conservatives demanding lower taxes and higher spending.  And the Liberals demanding even higher spending, more programs and higher taxes.

Isn't anyone actually fiscally responsible anymore?  Don't our current citizens care if they are tying a big anchor to our children?  Think about it.

• People think they deserve their full SS, SSD and Medicare benefits even though for decades they have not been paying high enough "premiums" (ie pay roll tax rates) to payout those desired benefits.  The trust funds are going to crash soon and everyone is plugging theirs ears and covering their eyes.
• People think they should pay less in taxes, even while they desire more expenditures. This will lead to massive deficits in the coming years.  And the idiot GOP folk can keep claiming that growth will close the gap, but Reagan and Bush II have proven big time that it does not work.
• And yes the majority of citizens from all parts of the spectrum contribute by either begging for tax cuts or handouts.

Well I hope our children will forgive us for this mess in a decade or so.  Or I hope they choose to discontinue SS and Medicare payments in retribution for all the greed we are and have been showing for the last 20+ years.

Just imagine the simple stupidity of this whole situation. We all know the National Debt is too High, and that the SS, SSD and Medicare programs are unsustainable as is. And people on both sides are pointing fingers at each other while demanding cuts or expenditures that benefit them personally !!!  One really can not make dysfunction like this up. 😖  When you see your kids or grand kids, I think you should beg their forgiveness.

Now I am a fan of cutting entitlements, since the people receiving them did not fund them adequately. And as the national debt forecast graph shows, something really MUST Change...

Unfortunately I have ZERO faith in the GOP party and their voter's ability to behave fiscally responsibly after the last 3 years of tax cuts and spending increases. As I have said before.

I hope our children and grand children can forgive our selfish irresponsible actions.

Just imagine if the citizens after WWII had been as irresponsible as us instead of working to pay down the debt.  We should all be very ashamed. :-(

It makes sense to me that a WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE are going to be angry with Trump for his mishandling of COVID.  Let's say that ~200,000 citizens are dead by then, and most of them are 60 or older.

That means there are going to be a LOT of spouses, children and friends who will likely be in mourning and angry.  It will be interesting to see who they decide to hold accountable for their loss?

I am betting it is the guy who promised COVID was under control on Feb 24th...
