NEVER Safe and Ivanka Merchandise

I just have to say that the idea of a 90/ 120 day ban being blocked ensuring that we will NEVER be safe is so silly that it needed to be noted.  And then he chooses to bring up a "bad high school student" as a point of comparison to the experienced judges.

CNN Power Struggle
"Trump condemned Robart, referring to him as a "so-called judge" and deeming his ruling "ridiculous."  Wednesday morning, he insisted the government must win the case.
"If the U.S. does not win this case as it so obviously should, we can never have the security and safety to which we are entitled. Politics!" Trump tweeted.

"Seeking to lend his own legal argument for the order banning travel from certain Muslim-majority countries, Trump insisted that US president's have wide authority to determine who may enter the United States. As he read from US immigration law, the President declared that even a "bad high school student" could understand the language and find in his favor.  "I think it's sad, I think it's a sad day," Trump told a group of major city police officers and sheriffs in Washington.

And just to the string of silliness...  The POTUS attacked a company because they dropped his daughter's merchandise.  How many weeks until impeachment?

Obviously, I have been thinking a lot about impeachment. Every day brings us news of Trump saying or doing something appalling. I don't think that Trump will be allowed to serve out his term. But removing Trump from office in the current political environment is an extraordinarily difficult task. We as a nation did really an amazing thing. We elected to the highest office in the land, a man who is totally unfit to serve. That was a complex phenomenon and it can only be unwound with the greatest difficulty. We do see early signs of that happening. But there is a very long way to go.

There has been a lot of talk about the Kubler ross five stages of grief lately. In political terms, with respect to the removal of Trump from office, I believe that most Republicans are in the negotiation stage. They feel that Trump can be managed, that he can be allowed his tweets as long as the actual business of government is conducted by more responsible individuals, the cabinet, and Republican leaders in Congress. We see this most visibly in Republican unwillingness to defend Trump's comments. This negotiation stage can be quite lengthy, and maybe if we are very, very lucky, might through his entire term of office. But a crisis would end it.

Jerry,
Using the POTUS account to go after an American company for personal reasons?

Really?

To a pretty large extent, I think the American people understood Trump was a crook when they elected, they just hoped he would be our crook. That being the case, the usual ethics concerns are beside the point where Donald is concerned. Oddly, the rules that don't apply to Donald do seem to fully apply to everyone else. Hillary was hurt by minor ethical concerns with respect to her foundation, whereas Donald's us of his foundation as a blatant money laundering scheme seemed to have no impact at all. Trump does and says things everyday which would be political suicide if a Democrat tried them, and I think that's just something we have to get used to.

That is why I thought Jerry's indifference was amusing.

He would have freaked if Obama had done that.

Maybe it is time to introduce the long-recognized legal standard of the "reasonable person." Somebody makes a blatantly political attack on your child and attempts to damage them financially. A judge makes a blatantly political ruling that ignores the clear law and Constitution. What does a reasonable person do in such circumstances?

"Trump does and says things everyday which would be political suicide if a Democrat tried them, and I think that's just something we have to get used to." But some of the things Trump does and says are things a Democrat would never say or do, just because they are a Democrat. Thank goodness. And the other things that would be "political suicide" are those that the Left counts as politically incorrect and therefore we should get used to PC not having such ungodly total sway over us, thanks to Mr. Trump.

"With great power comes with great responsibility"

Unfortunately the office of POTUS does not get to weigh in a squabbles between individual businesses just because Trump's feeling are hurt.

Trump chose to run for President, is choosing to run an attacking / negative office, is choosing to offend half the population and therefore his kids will be impacted. That is called Capitalism.

As I said previously, just think what you would have been writing if Obama had started interfering with how businesses chose to operate? Remember what you said regarding the government's GM involvement.

Yes, I said that government had no business taking over a mega-business and shafting the actual owners. If you cannot see the difference between a simple statement pointing out a politically-motivated attack on someone's family from that, then your equivalence-meter is seriously defective.

Trump is making a habit of using his political status to threaten and cajole private companies... The definition of government interference that you say you disapprove of. Deny it if you wish...

"threaten and cajole" \= "takeover"/"regulate to death"
