No wonder so many people are stressed out !!! Both Tribe Liberal and Tribe Conservative seem to thrive on scare mongering and feeding fear / anger. And their members seem to have an insatiable hunger for that negative worrying stream?
Now let's remember a few things:
- They make money when you tune in. Just like a weather person predicting potential storms to drive ratings, these folks sensationalize and scare you into tuning in.
- The USA has survived the Civil War, the Great Depression, 2 World Wars, etc. It is unlikely to end anytime soon.
- Turn off your TV, Phone, computer, etc and spend more time enjoying life, volunteering to help others, living in the PRESENT, etc and you will feel much of that anxiety flow away.
- If you spend much of your time thinking about what may happen, you will likely die earlier and waste many of the days between now and then.
I hope you will have a wonderful media free day !!!!

I don't think the constitutional version of the United States did survive the Civil War. The understanding of what we were as a nation fundamentally changed. The three Civil War amendments redefined ourselves as a nation.
I am struck about the role violence is now playing in our public discourse. What happened in 2020 was arguably comparable and possibly worse than the domestic conflict over the Vietnam War. What is happening now that didn't happen then is a loss of confidence in our election system across the political spectrum. If our elections are credible, don't produce legitimacy, what is the alternative?
The inability to provide a hearing and process to Merrick Garland was a real turning point for me. It said our government can no longer function at a most basic level, and in permanently undermined the Supreme Court. It said that our country was failing and that there would be no going back.

Democrats Can’t Keep Dismissing Complaints About ‘Critical Race Theory’
I agree that democrats need a more effective response.
I especially liked this paragraph.
"It’s unclear how widely these developments have spread. Overwhelming majorities of teachers say they don’t teach “critical race theory,” but given the vagueness of the concept, that doesn’t tell us much. And in terms of influence and perceptions, even isolated incidents can punch above their weight. If Democrats don’t distance themselves from a perspective that—whatever you call it—maintains that race is paramount, hard work doesn’t pay off, and individual merit is an illusion, they risk alienating voters and pushing them farther right than they might otherwise be."
