A curious thing about Republicans is that they do not support policies which they are for. In Trump, they tell us they want a businessman for president. And the businessman they chose is of a very specific kind. They have no interest in someone who is a builder of great businesses. It never occurs to them to nominate people like Bezos, Gates, or Jobs for anything. Their ideal is the dealmaker, the Donald Trump kind of businessman. But after hiring a dealmaker, they don't seem to want him to make deals. Former President Trump is all about negotiating tough deals, but that is exactly what Republicans are against. And when he was in office, that is exactly what he didn't do because he had no support for doing it within his party.
