There is still hope for the GOP. The sad thing is that many Far Righters voted to keep him in office. :-O

I don't think we will come back. We don't trust each other anymore. We have lost a sense of each other's credibility. These days, when there is disagreement, at least one or both parties declare the other is lying. That is very disturbing.

I am sure there were similar but different problems that people worried about in the past 247 years.
Certainly, in the lead up to the Civil War. But history is full of cases where people lost confidence and trust in each other. Present day Israel is another example.

One of the things I have been thinking about lately, is that people who disagree with us, are lying. i know I don't have a monopoly on truth. Just as I believe certain things, there are often a world of entirely reasonable arguments against the things I believe. And I don't know what the future. If things don't turn out exactly the way I thought it would, which is always the case, that doesn't mean I was lying about it.
But if I give two different valuations for a piece of real estate at the same time, one of them is a fib.
