So do you think the Dems should force a govt shutdown? I think it is time to stand up to Trump and the GOP. Both options are bad, but I think shutting down the govt is the least bad alternative.

I am leaning towards no... It would make the DEMs look bad and will not stop Musk / Trump.
If the DEMs had a leader that could actually communicate, it may go better. But they do not, so they will probably need to cave again. :-(

I am still not sure what was the right vote on the shutdown. I just want some effective dem leaders to emerge in opposing Trump and Musk. So far AOC and Bernie seem to be showing the most fight. I think dems should pick a new senate minority leader.

I don't think center left vs far left is important right now. What's needed is an effective communicator to help people see how Trump is destroying the country. I can believe he still has 47% approval rating.

I think you are underestimating how much frustration there is out there with the DEMs being unwilling to push back against Public Employee unions and government head count.
