When things go badly, it is very easy to retreat into a fantasy world, or a nostalgic world where we were happier, when we were perhaps in his pride. Faced with overwhelming burdens, and he isn't competent to handle, President Trump is retreating into a world where his main concerns were marble countertops and bathroom fixtures.
