The Brainstorm Ideas for Posts Post

To escape the contentious  nature of the last post for now.  Let's do some brainstorming over what you would like to discuss in the future.  As usual almost no topic is to taboo or silly, within the "G2A Rules" off to the right.

So what mysteries or topics have you been aching to discuss?  Then I will be happy to post on the topics over the coming weeks.

And remember, guest posters are always welcome.  Just drop me an email with your post and if it conforms with the rule I will happily put it on the site and give you credit...

I would for once like to beat one subject into submission before starting another. I don't mind having the last word, but I like it to be after everyone else has had the same opportunity.

Since I don't think G2A blocks any comments based on time from posting, we can pursue both as long as the commenters wish. I just wanted to offer alternatives.

If the other commenters wish to leave the discussion, then I am fine having the last word. I consider the issue "resolved" because of that last comment. (YMMV, of course :-)

But I can't imagine that to be true. I think that, most of the time, people will comment on only the latest posting, and ignore previous threads, as a matter of time. Where one conversation drifts off-topic, of course, you do a better job than most of following up, using the new topic suggested by the earlier thread. Thanks.

Teachers Left Behind

An increase in education funding could help alleviate teacher stress here in MN and maybe boost morale slightly, but I am still looking for opportunities to persuade my niece that something other than teaching may be a more rewarding career for her.

Here is a topic for J, who doesn't tire of making his arguments:

97 Percent of Climate Scientists Can't Be Wrong

Because I found it so intriguing here it is again:

Welcome, Robot Overlords. Please Don't Fire Us?

I hope to work another 20 years, in which time I think computers will be replacing some (many?) teachers.

That is as close as I am going to get to making a post, linking is just so easy. I wonder if the robots will be blogging in the not so distant future?

Here's one: I just received a request to sign a petition to Congress to declare "personhood" at the time of conception. Roe v. Wade automatically becomes obsolete once that is done, and the "due process clause" of the Constitution would rule. Abortion could still be made legal, by the states, circumscribed as they saw fit. It makes the legal situation a lot more "neat and tidy."

But while I'm generally in agreement with the notion, I'm reluctant to open that can of worms all at once. I'm imagining a lot of unintended consequences. For example, "anchor babies" as now defined (hop across the border and deliver) would disappear, to be replaced by "hop across the border and conceive" as the definition. Messy.
