Given the number of people in the general population who Trump has annoyed, vilified, failed to help and/or insulted... I am guessing the answer is yes. And per this piece it seems the GOP governors understand this. Next year's elections are going to be exciting !!! Thoughts?

"It's not good for me. Believe me," he said at a Sept. 27 event in Indiana to sell the plan. "My plan is for the working people, and my plan is for jobs. I don't benefit," he also said that day.
And earlier this month, according to NBC News, Trump told a group of Democratic senators in a phone call, "My accountant called me and said 'you're going to get killed in this bill.'"
Ron Klain had an interesting Washington Post piece recently. He talked about how Trump wasn't a person who placed a high priority on saying true things. His supporters understand that about him. Trump is a recognizable American type, the con man, and we sort of have a sneaky fondness for him. And if people like me condescend to Trump supporters, many Trump supporters condescend to folks like me who are so oblivious to the joke and to the irony of Donald Trump.
Donald Trump wasn't elected president because people thought he was an honest man. Or because he was a competent lead. He didn't get elected because he was admirable. Nobody admires Donald Trump. Nobody wants their children to grow up to be like Donald Trump. No political campaign would dream of sending Donald Trump out door knocking. Rather Donald Trump was elected to disrupt, even to destroy things. He was elected to bring our failed government down, and for this, his personal qualities are irrelevant. But one notable consequence of this is no sane person, supporter of Trump, ever relies on anything Trump says, if their own interests depend on it.

What I find more fascinating is the human psychology that enables Trump true believers to believe anything Trump says after so many obvious lies.
Somehow they are able to block out all the proof and history of his lies.

I don't believe Trump supporters believe him. As condescending toward them as I am, not even I believe that. People aren't stupid, mostly.
Trumps relationship to the truth is complex. He is a great American type, the con man, the tall tale teller. The __ artist. He is the guy in American mythology who we pretend to revile, but who secretly amuses us. It's the attitude that explains why the musical is called "The Music Man" and not "Marian the Librarian". He is the joke that's played on the goody two shoes of the world as emobodied by say, Hillary Clinton.
A good and insightful question to ask about Donald Trump is "Why isn't he in jail?" Why isn't Harold Hill doing time in some Iowa prison? As much as anything, Donald Trump finds and exploits a fissure in the criminal law. While he lies to an extraordinary degree, his lies are utterly lacking in any sort of credibility at all. They cannot be reasonably believed. No one, for example, can reasonably believe attending a couple of meetings at Trump U. will make you rich. Given that what Trump says is obviously untrue, and that no one can believe what he said, there simply is the lack of the intent required for the conviction of a crime. Just as no one in River City ever believed in their heart of hearts that Harold Hill could turn the town's youth into a great performing marching band overnight.

Perhaps through a different lens, Trump's "lies" are not lies at all. Since a good lie must always contain a basis in truth, so it is with him, and those who support him pick out that wheat from the chaff of hyperbole and "unsportsmanlike conduct." He annoys the media, the Democrats and the Establishment? GOOD! More than enough reason to vote for him. The "impossible" things he proposes to "MAGA" are just "hope and change." What's wrong with that?
