Which brings us back to David French's piece... If the President Is Going to Be So Powerful, Can We Ask He Also Be Good? The need for presidential character has never been greater, while the demand has rarely been smaller.
So does anyone really want the President to be so "Emperor Like"?
The Conservatives seem happy to give the current President everything he wants, and yet are they really willing to set that precedent for the next DEM President?
Maybe they are that short sighted... :-) The good news is that at last finally a few GOP individuals are starting to push back against the "Emperor" and remind him that he is actually just another lowly public servant that must play by the rules. Now if only more will do that we will be in a much better place.
And on a related note. Now Trump reverses story and says that he sent Giuliani to Ukraine. (Fox) I asked some Conservatives how they can believe in what Trump says, when he lies so often? I did not get a reply.

What Barr was telling Trump is that he knows what to do without being told, and that Trump isn't helping by putting a spotlight on that. A saner person would have gotten the message, but Trump tweeted he can do anything he wants. In effect, Barr threw him a lifelines and Trump is treating it like an anchor.
This is Ifthat really scares conservatives. Finally they have the courts they wanted, the courts that will effectively govern this country for generations to come regardless of election outcomes. The risk going forward is that Democratic presidents will reject the authority of those courts. But what they don't need is for Republicans to reject the authority of courts, before a Democratic president even comes to office. Trump is already doing this on lower levels. If Trump defies the Supreme Court, that will mean the end of the judicial branch's authority to review legislation. It will become an advisory body only.

Correct.
The whole Barr interview was bad attempts to provide cover. I don't know why they bother. If Trump says the sky is purple, his true believers will put out the eye of anyone who dares say that it's blue. Why trouble yourselves trying to convince anyone on either side?

More seriously... I have pretty much given up hope of people learning or changing based on my comments and facts....
I prefer to ask more questions lately... And I hope that it plants a little seed in the brain.
