Trump Inc Found Guilty

of Tax Fraud. Is anyone surprised?

I mean his charitable trust was fraudulent.

His school was fraudulent.

And why do dupes still support him?

Trump loves to plead ignorance. It is his recurrent theme. In the tax case, he says he relied on his employee and his accountant. This is a huge advantage white collar criminals have. It is very hard for someone who robs a bank to blame his accountant.

Only time will tell.

I think it will be hard for a Business Owner to avoid accountability for the actions of his business.

Trump's business is closely controlled and it is very dependent on his brand. He isn't accountable in the way CEO's of publicly traded companies are.

Trump liked to talk about how when he paid less in taxes than one would expect from someone as wealthy as he claimed to be, that it was because he was "smart", that he took advantage of the loopholes the tax code provided. What we learned from the criminal trial was that Trump avoided taxes by taking advantage of gaps in enforcement. He knows different government don't compare information and when they do, the penalties are minimal. Had Trump chosen the path that most rich people do, which is stay quiet and work behind the scenes, nobody would ever have pursued these matters.

There is an idea out there that Democrats want to hire 87,000 IRS workers. Rep. Emmer says they want to do that so they can investigate it when grandma sells a couch. Well, the IRS has quite enough investigators to audit the poor. I know busboys who get audited every year over their tips. The folks who don't get audited are the folks who finance the campaigns of Emmer and others.

Going forward, how does any intelligent corporate head decide to do business with T's corporation? How does Trump, Inc. get loans that are on the up and up? I hope this is the death knell for this corrupt enterprise, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I think those who don't have to deal with Trump don't deal with Trump. In New York City, he is not one of the big real estate player so there is often an alternative to any given Trump property. If thee is, they can work on a cash basis.

Since Trump's bankruptcies, he has been unable to secure financing from most banks, greatly limiting his ability to do business. He had sweetheart arrangements with Deutsche Bank for some reason, but those are going away. For decades now, Trump has been mostly in the business of licensing his name or trading on his celebrity. Those were things companies were willing to do business on. Trump has always been a comic figure, more a comment on weath than an actually wealthy person. He is a performance art version of businessman ratheer than actually a businessman who was in on the joke. Did the American people no realize that? Did they watch "The Apprentice" and somehow miss the irony?

I am just hoping that the citizens who supported him ardently regain their sanity and see him for the con man he is.

I am curious if Jerry has finally given up on Trump?

Or if he still sees Trump as the victim of political witch hunts?
