The Insanity Continues

and Candidates mostly denied the courts, states, law enforcement, etc

Only in America would voters reward narcisists and liars who support anarchy for their own personal gain.

For a long time, the political legitimacy of our government has been under attack. Routinely, I hear taxation as characterixed as thef, which is an argument that the entity that imposes its as unlawful. Currently, a large part of the establishment slwhich governs us in the 21st century, the administrative state, is under political and constitutional state. It is entirely possible that by Supreme Court fiat, we will return to a pre civil war vision of America, the vision perhaps of the founders who embraced slavery and who put us on a path leading to the worst conflict in our history.

I think that is unlikely...

It certainly is what the Supreme Court has planned for us. It is really a question of whether this set of justices has the nerve to do it. At the very least, what the justices want to do is ensure that administrative rules are in a constant state of litigation and judicial review.

That is a LONG way from...

"we will return to a pre civil war vision of America"

Congress is unable to effectively govern America. Our society is just too complicated. The pre Civil War Congress didn't govern America either, but it didn't have to.

What we understand as the modern federal government was the invention of Franklin Roosevelt. Only during the depression did it become clear that we were one nation with national problems. It became clear then that with respect to those problems state borders were irrelevant. This did become the prevailing view, but it was by no means universally held. And now, we are seeing it rejected, not by a majority, but by an increasingly empowered minority.

To my amazement and dismay, it seems the GOP is trying to give the FEDs ever more power...

Border security, COVID bailouts, sin laws, etc...

The Dems and GOPers, and their voters, seem dedicated to giving our kids a bankrupt country.
