It's the advantage of being a non relativist. Non relativists believe that they are absolutely right (few it seems they believe are absolutely wrong) and so anything they do in furthering their aims is morally justified. This exaltation of ends over means is one of the things that relativists envy about non relativists most.

Well it sounds like the legislatures are still GOP controlled. Even next year.

Because they are acting against the will of the people who elected the other guy. Note that critics of the move often point out that the legislative districts in Wisconsin are gerrymandered. If they are, that undermines the political legitimacy of the legislature especially in contrast to the governor whose constituency is incapable of gerrymandering.
Having lost many elections, one of my favorite things to say at those times is that it's our time to sit down and let the other side run things for a while. It's interesting to me that Republicans don't really believe that.

Wisconsin Democrats won 190,000 more votes than Republicans statewide, yet Republicans won almost two-thirds of state legislative seats.
Do you really think this level of election tampering is acceptable?
The Wisconsin legislature is illegitimate. That's why they are desperately trying to restrict the power of the executive.

Yet they chose a Democratic executive and overwhelmingly supported a Democratic legislature (which was denied to them).
