Maybe Trump and Bernie are Related?

Opinions | Sanders gets more Trumpian by the day WAPO

I thought this was pretty interesting...
"Populist leaders present themselves as the only authentic voice of the “people.” Therefore, critics in the media are enemies of the people, for to take on the leader is to attack the people. When the leader is rejected at the polls, it cannot be an authentic expression of the people. The system must be rigged; the establishment must be out to get the candidates and, by extension, the people. "
It does sound a lot like Trump and Sanders. :-)

Based on his rhetoric, Trump has a lot of leftist appeal. In many ways, he is far from a conventional Republican. We are not unamused at how so many Republicans have abandoned long held principles to support Trump.

It is amazing how fast they dropped their belief in:
- law and order
- government transparency
- balanced budgets
- free trade

Events have show us what the core ideas of the Republican Party and what is just for show. What Republicans are for, what they will always stand by and fight for are lower taxes, and socially conservative judges.
