Chaotic Court

As Trump tries to avoid answering questions.

For a "genius" they sure know NOTHING about their business... :-O

Or so they would like the court to believe.

And Trump trying to annoy the judge while testifying did not seem very smart...

Trump is staging a performance for the media and for his base. I don't think he does all that much business in the state of New York anymore, so I don't think it matters much if he wins or loses this case.

Our system of government, and the philosophy that supports it has had a good run, but it is worn out. It's a twenty year old car that has received seven years of maintenance, and is now overwhelmed by its flaws. What is happening in that courtroom is just another very graphic, example of that.

I assume he was trying to trigger a reaction to get a mistrial.

I think he failed.

There is no jury to prejudice. It is assumed that the judge, being learned in the law, can properly handle any irregularities. T may be trying to generate grounds for appeal, but his mistreatment of the trial judge isn't going to make him any friends among appellate judges.ch

The case will take forever to decide, and even if it some how goes against Trump in a meaningful way, he can simply sell his assets, possibly to himself using a shell company and go on his merry way.

This case does raise a basic problem with Trumpism. Trump routinely makes false statements. Everyone knows that, the statements themselves can be obviously false, and this is to such a degree that there is a question of intent to deceive. Everyone always knew that Trump overvalued his assets, at least when it was in his PR interest to do so. No one took those statements seriously. As far as deceiving bankers, most banks wouldn't loan Trump money for other reasons. And anyway, when a bank loans money, the bank isn't that interested in the value of assets, it is interested in cash flow. This is why, when we apply for credit cards, the issuing agency asks about income, and looks at history of making payments on time. They don't really ask about net worth.

I like this quote...

My greatest disappointment is that a person's character, honesty and integrity no longer matter to about half of Americans.

I think it is more important to be right on the issues. Trump's lack of character isn't why I am against him. And bear in mind I did support Bill Clinton.

Then why are you against him? He spent money like a Democrat... :-)

That is a pretty vague response... Like usual... :-)
