G2A will moderate any comments that apply derogatory labels. Be it to G2A, another commenter, group of people, etc.
G2A will moderate any comment that includes offensive language. (ie swearing)

The system is fine... It is the voters that are changing.
Here is the challenge. People who believe in Noah's Ark feel looked down on by the "elites". How do we respond to that when, to a certain extent, that is true. I try not to do that myself. I make a very conscious effort to respect those who hold different views from my own, and to recognize the limits on my own omniscience. But very often that isn't enough, particularly when people live in closed systems, where they don't have contact with others with different views. Our media is departmentalized that way, where there are outlets that esssentially present one view. Gerrymandered congressional districts where diistricts are created where one party is dominant. I don't have an answer to these problems, of course, but what really worries me is that there are no answers to this problem, that we will just become more divided, with nothing to bring us together.
