The 2012 Screw Up

It really is too bad we did not elect Romney in 2012.

Just think... He would likely still be our President and Trump would not... :-)

Nope. We got it right in 2012.

Look at you. Supporting Trump... :-)

So the argument is because we voted for the black guy in 2012 you had to vote for a racist in 2016? Got it.

John said...

No... I am happy to say I voted against Hillary...

As you know, I am not much into using race or sex as a factor or excuse.

I am just noting that Romney would make a great President...

And that Obama's policies and Hillary as a candidate annoyed enough people that it was possible for Trump to win.

Too bad he will not run in 2020

But with the whacko conservatives the way they are, he would not have a chance...

Maybe he can do more as a Senator from Utah.

every ballot I have cast has asked me to mark my choice for the position, not who I didn't want.

When are you going to take responsibility and apologize for voting for Trump? You should do it now, before he becomes even more atrocious. The worst is yet to come.

The great thing about Mitt Romney is that he's been on every side of every issue, so you can believe anything you want about what kind of President he would be. After all, he's the guy who said he was more pro-gay rights than Ted Kennedy!

I'll just leave this here.

"I always tell my daughters they can be anything they want, so long as they don’t make other people feel uncomfortable. They can be as ambitious as they want, so long as they do it in an acceptable manner. They can reach for the stars, which you can see right up there on the ceiling painted to resemble a sky.

So bring it on, ladies! I’d love to see a female President. Just not Hillary Clinton. Or Elizabeth Warren. I am totally open to all other women leaders, but I have to admit that Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar are beginning to make me angry and I’m not sure why yet, but I know the reason will become clear soon, and I’m also wondering what they might look like if someone photoshopped their heads onto the bodies of prisoners and put them behind bars.

Reach for the stars, girls!"

I DON’T HATE WOMEN CANDIDATES — I JUST HATED HILLARY AND COINCIDENTALLY I’M STARTING TO HATE ELIZABETH WARREN

Laurie and Sean,

Hillary was also atrocious in her own way.

I may deeply dislike Trump in some ways, but I am still fine with my vote against Hillary...

As for women candidates:

How about Nikki Haley for President?

Or do you have something against women candidates?

It's fascinating how Republicans accept behavior that would have been disqualifying for any Democrat. (Jimmy Carter had to sell his gosh-darned peanut farm, but it's OK for Donald Trump to profit from his businesses while President. Bill Clinton got impeached for lying about an affair, but Republicans shrug at Donald Trump making illegal payments to porn stars.)

It's also funny how so many of the things Republicans warned us about regarding Hillary have proven to be true about Trump. (Like the fact that it's the Trump Foundation that has been shut down for illegal activities, not the Clinton Foundation.)

John said...

Yes. The parties do tend to protect their own.

I mean the Senate gave Clinton a pass on lying because the DEMs supported him.

And selling a farm was pretty simple.

John said...

By the way, I am fine with impeaching and removing Trump from office.

Laurie said...

do you think the senate should have removed Clinton from office for lying about his personal life?

John said...

What he lied about was somewhat immaterial.

Lying under oath as the President seems a little important.

Not sure I would have removed him, but ZERO DEMs voting yes sounds like the GOPers now days.

Laurie said...

if you would have voted no on removing Clinton from office why do you think a democrat should have vote yes. Doesn't make sense.

Clinton should have been censured not impeached.

John said...

I said... "Not sure I would have removed him"...

I have never stopped to think about it.

The reality for better or worse is that usually Party Members protect "their person"...

Laurie said...

Nixon was forced to resign and was not protected by his party
also the reason dems didn´t vote against Clinton is impeaching him was sort of ridiculous.

John said...

Well, we will see what the GOP Senate does with Trump if the House makes a good case.
